Palworld 1.0 Breeding Basics
Breeding in Palworld 1.0 is much more strategic than it looked in early access. The right pair can save you hours of wasted Cake, while the wrong pair will send you back to the drawing board. Our goal here is to make the basics easy to understand and practical to use in real gameplay.
Getting Started
To start breeding in Palworld, you need to reach level 19 to unlock the Breeding Farm in the Technology tree. Once unlocked, you will need the following materials to build it:
- 100 Wood
- 20 Stone
- 50 Fiber
The Breeding Process
- Assign one male and one female Pal to the Breeding Farm.
- Place Cake in the chest attached to the Breeding Farm.
- Wait for the breeding process to complete (the circular gauge on the farm will fill up).
- Collect the Egg and place it in an Egg Incubator.
How is the Offspring Determined?
Palworld uses a hidden stat called Breeding Power for every Pal. The child is determined by averaging both parents' values and finding the closest match in the current 1.0 breeding table.
There are some exceptions to this rule, known as special combinations. These hardcoded pairs override the normal formula, which is why a calculator is so useful if you want accurate results instead of guessing.
For the fastest setup, start with a few reliable parents you can easily keep in your farm, then use the calculator to find the best breeding routes for the Pals you actually want.
